Media Room: Benita A. Esposito’s Bio
Education. Benita A. Esposito, M.A., LPC earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology (1976) and a bachelor’s degree is in psychology/sociology/speech communications (1973) from Illinois State University. Fascinated in the untapped potential of human beings and body-mind-spirit healing, Benita’s master thesis researched methods of pain elimination without drugs, including biofeedback and meditation techniques. Ph.D. courses included community psychology and statistics from the Community-Organizational Psychology program at Georgia State University. Benita has completed numerous post-graduate courses in adult education methods, counseling, leadership, team-building, marketing, sales and entrepreneurial skills.
Career Experience. Benita A. Esposito, M.A. is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). After launching her career as an out-patient psychotherapist with Catholic Social Services in Iowa, Benita transferred to Ozark Mental Health Center in Joplin, Missouri as a Community Services Professional. She designed, marketed and delivered adult education courses for the general public, facilitated community organization projects, and was responsible for marketing and public relations for a large non-profit mental health center. Benita opened her own business in Georgia in the mid-eighties, specializing in counseling women and couples to reach their full potential. Benita also facilitates corporate team-building based on emotional intelligence theory and techniques.
